Role of the Board

The Board of Directors is the apex governing body of the Bharat Open Source Innovation Foundation (BOSIF) and is responsible for strategic oversight, fiduciary responsibility, and statutory compliance in accordance with the Companies Act, 2013 and applicable Section-8 regulations.

The Board acts in the best interest of the Foundation and its objectives, ensuring that BOSIF operates as a neutral, transparent, and not-for-profit entity.


Responsibilities of the Board

The Board of Directors is responsible for:

  • Upholding the vision, mission, and objectives of BOSIF
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and ethical obligations
  • Approving policies, governance frameworks, and major initiatives
  • Overseeing financial management and utilization of funds
  • Safeguarding BOSIF’s independence from undue influence
  • Ensuring transparency and accountability in all operations

Composition

The composition of the Board reflects a balance of experience across academia, industry, technology, governance, and public interest domains.
