Vision & Mission
Vision
To establish India as a global hub for open source innovation, infrastructure, and indigenous technology creation, enabling institutions, enterprises, and individuals to collaboratively build solutions that serve societal, economic, and national interests.
BOSIF envisions a future where open source is not merely consumed or contributed to, but conceived, governed, and sustained from India for the world.
Mission
The mission of the Bharat Open Source Innovation Foundation (BOSIF) is to:
- Promote the creation, adoption, and governance of open source software, platforms, and infrastructure originating from India.
- Enable educational institutions to embed open source innovation, research, and practical contribution into their academic ecosystem.
- Foster collaboration between academia, industry, startups, and the open source community.
- Support students, researchers, and practitioners through mentorship, internships, scholarships, and incubation opportunities.
- Establish transparent, ethical, and community-driven governance models for open source initiatives.
BOSIF operates as a neutral, not-for-profit platform, committed to long-term ecosystem development rather than short-term commercial outcomes.
